I went to Best Buy to buy a new computer and on the way in at the Geek Squad counter I saw a white Sony Laptop 15.7 inch screen refurbished for the same price as a new Toshiba, I am getting a cheaper laptop for travelling this summer and I was surprised that a refurbished laptop was the same price as a new one, so what is up with that?I bought it because I fell in love with it and the Geek guy told me that Sony laptops are excellent and very durable and recommended for travelling , You can believe the Geek Squad guys in Best Buy,.. right?

Why would you buy a refurbished HP PC when the new ones are such crap?
Honestly, I can't imagine a worse computer to choose. The warranty is only offered as a token and they don't truly stand by their products. I've bought new with warranty and had 2 years of nothing but problems. It's not just luck but poor service and terrible customer handling. They are only concerned with getting you back out the door and give temporary fixes if they feel like it. 4 screens 2 mother boards during the warranty period and I am still left with a piece of trash. Yeah, they have my back up, I guess you are welcome to add your positive comments but I have since read almost identical similar negative reports on HP.I sometimes wonder if some of these replies may be written by HP employees or investors execs etc. Maybe I am wrong about that. One thing I am not wrong about is the quality of the product I purchased and the service I received. I rarely travel with my laptop apart from to get it repaired so it is not handled roughly. It is hot where I live however my HP computer gets so hot and I have heard this numerous times, you could almost fry an egg on it. I'm tempted and may shortly post on Youtube if its actually possible. It's been like this since new. Yes, I'm still using it although i must endure moments of frozen screen about every 4 seconds or so and only about 2 thirds of the screen is viewable. When I bought it they had a special and threw in a printer. That I guess was also not a good sign. You shouldn't need to discount your product or throw in extras just to get them out the door. I'm trying to buy a laptop and I am trying to decide between one from TigerDirect that has a 500gb hd and a better processor, plus a BluRay reader and 8gb of ram that's less than 500 or one from HP that has 6gb of ram, 640gb of hd, and costs about 700, but the one from tigerdirect is a refurbished product. Is it a good idea to buy a refurbished laptop? Even from TigerDirect? Thanks.

Rob LOL, good one.The only reason why I'm getting a refurbished MacBook Air is because it'll take longer to save up for $999 and I don't like OS X Lion. I like Snow Leopard better. They said most people bring them back either because they don't like Mac or a problem happened but they said they make sure it is working and there is a free 1 year warranty so that's good and of course the 30 day return thing I just want to make sure and see if anyone has had any experience with Apple Refurbished Macs.
